Photography Vendors
Selecting a photographer is generally a balancing act between finding a style that you like and what is within your budget. Ultimately, when deciding on a photographer you should consider how they will be presenting your wedding. But always keep in mind that a professional photographer has more than just better equipment, they also have the skill to capture the memory of your special day and bring back the emotions you felt. Here are some tips to consider:
It is rude to leave your guests in limbo while you pose endlessly with each individual family member for a photograph. The quicker you get through the formal photographs, the quicker you can get to the reception. Suggest to your photographer that photos of the Groom, groomsmen and grooms family be done prior to the wedding. If time allows do the same for the Bride, bridesmaids, and Bride's family. This allows the formals done after the ceremony to be completed more quickly.
Videography
When considering a videographer for your wedding ceremony, you must first check with the church to see if a videographer is allowed in the church. You must also find out the site's rules on lighting, and if a videographer is allowed to set up at the altar. However, you should keep in mind that the videographer and their equipment might be visible in your still photography shots, and opt to have the videographer set up in a less noticeable location.
Additionally, you should ask about the videographer's post-production techniques, as this is the most important aspect of getting a quality video of your wedding and the surrounding events. Does the videographer edit the footage or just turn over the video tapes (or DVD)? The difference between something that is watched for years and something that gathers dust is often determined by how the video is edited.
